Don’t expect the ‘firmness’ and smooth operation of pulleys you’d get on a dedicated exercise machine at the gym . However, it does the job and it does it safely when working out alone. Im really impressed with how smooth the smith bar is. A lot of machines like this have their weakness in their butterfly portion not being smooth.

That doesn’t always work, as I had a “steel bushing” missing and there were only 7 of these in the box instead of 8. (“Steel bushing” is actually a plastic bushing) Also, I got the 150 pound weight stack, which is optional. I am tall and the machine has an adjustable seat, so it works fine for me. Just a bunch of pages with bad copies of parts.
I have a squat rack and can only go so deep and then only with lower weight. I’m starting to get away from traditional squats, as awesome as they are for leg strength. This would have been nice to know BEFORE I had assembled. I had to pull apart several pieces and reassemble. Absolutely horrible instructions and no instructions for adding weight stack. I assembled and put the stack on top of the weight “carriage” , but the cable is too short when you do that.
